The Annoying Orange Series - Shielding from Snipers

Right so, in the past few hectic days, I managed to spare some time surfing youtube for hilarious videos. And I've come across just what I wanted. Take a look at this first comical video.

The Annoying Orange 1

Pretty hilarious wasn't it? Its quite funny to think in a fruit's perspective when getting cut and diced. One thing I like about this video is that it managed to bring humour without using obscene or vulgar words, and instead uses clear perfect english and sometimes uses hilarious puns to develop a sense of humour. The next video is the one I like most and the subsequent one demonstrates pun in the last part.

The Annoying Orange 2

Saw the "brain" getting ripped out of the pumpkin? Plumpkin is another demonstration of rhetorical devices like rhyme. And eerie music at the end bring you more humour as the pumpkin gets "killed".

The Annoying Orange 3

And here's another one by the same youtuber.

Marshmallow Murder

There are more videos up to AO 6 but since I don't want a long scrolling page I might as well put up links to the video.

What I really enjoy about Danebo's (the author) videos are, they are hilarious without the use of obscene acts or languages. Even my parents laughed at this ! The reaction of the annoyed fruits who try to counter the orange's manipulation of language are the most hilarious of all and its sort of like laughing at their misery. Especially when normal dicing and blending and other methods we use to eat fruits are killing methods for the fruits *chuckle*.

I loved the part where the orange commented " Hey tomato, I was hoping we could catch up, get it? Ketchup!" Please comment and tell me what you think of the videos. They were relaxing for me and I hope they are for you guys too !

Hectic Victims. We're the Snipers.

One can say that optimism towards teachers should be made compulsory. Sometimes, we just can't control what we notice of the higher-ups and start to make assumptions. For the past few days, there has been, yup, total hilarious frenzies about our teachers and a few irrelevant but engaging points have been made about them. I'll tell you guys in detail what I just meant.

List of notable teachers:

1) Mr Kong (Chemistry)
2) Mr Choi (Higher Chinese)

Right, so here I go with sole bravery,

Chemistry was our first Science module of the year and no one could underestimate the power of Science from last year's teachings of Mrs Teo Chin Chew. However, this year our perception totally changed as we had a chemistry teacher with a more soothing complexion and reasonable attitute towards us students. It was, nontheless, Mr Kong. No one critized him about his teachings ever but until Monday, where we figured out one funny fact about him.

The lab assistant was a women named Michelle. She did various chores for Science teachers and got a load of criticism from Mrs Teo last year. This year however, she seemed more confident from her strides into the lab and we could soon see why.

On Monday, I was late for lab lesson due to some commitments and to my surprise, Mr Kong did not question me about it at all, neither did he even glanced at me once when I stepped in. As I sauntered towards my seat, Nigel, my lab mate was whispering into my ears. " Mr Kong naughty leh, damn naughty sia !" I was confused at first but seeing Mr Kong turn his gaze towards Michelle everytime she stepped into the lab soon resolved it. And he didn't even glance at me when I came in! We burst hilarious laughter throughout the whole lab lesson as he continued to turn towards her everytime she stepped in. After all, he is a man, isn't he? Deciding that it was better be put off as a joke, I'm sharing this issue with Acerons with a laugh.

Right so, Mr Choi was another one of our "victims" I say. He was a new teacher from Malaysia and his nationality is well, Malaysian Chinese. He was well-versed in Chinese with a hint of a rising accent and was proclaimed to be frowning to the presence of Western teachers.
He was well, you could say inexperienced in Singapore's teaching system. Just today, he gave out a comprehension assignment. He drew the lines for us personally and drew 2 lines for a 6 marks question. When inquired about this, he gave his reply with a disgruntled look. "Write it smaller then." What. was. that ? Even writing smaller for a 6 marks question won't be enough to compensate for 2 lines. When asked if we could write behind, he refused at first but soon gave in to our chatterings of that issue.

Another thing about him was that, he seemed eager to prove his authority towards us. During reading period, we had behaved exceptionally disturbing and a foreign teacher came in shush us up. All that time, Mr Choi's face had a confused look. After the foreign teacher left, he immediately walked to the middle of the classroom and said in a confused and calm manner. "所以," Then, suddenly, as if remembering that he had to be angry in a situation like this, shouted with unreal anger, "我告诉你!...... 我可以很凶的!" He ended with his usual high pitch accent at the last word, ended making us laugh instead of fear.

Well, these are the snippets of the things happening to our teachers now. Looking out for inequalities in Aceron. Byes.

Thousands of Snipers. One Way to Win

The publication of this post signifies a new blogskin with the start of a new year. Since it is a start of a new beginning (or end) I might as well introduce myself.

I am Park Seong Jin and definitely my name tells you that it is one of a kind in Singapore. Yup. That's right. I am a Korean foreigner studying in Singapore. Life here as a student was tough. Espcially wh
en I came into a SAP school after my PSLE. However, things are looking better now as I have learnt to take control of my own schedule and not let my schedule control me. Still, as the title suggests, "better" does not mean free. It means MORE commitments I have to control.

A) Academics are always the core of the school system. They are the single most important thing in my school life and everything I do revolves around it. As commitments increase, coping with the ever increasing homework would be difficult for me. Especially when we have to work hard to gain entry into CSE next year. Currently, my agenda is to get into the Humanities Program as I'm quite keen about well, literature, History, Geography and other fundamentals.

B) Leadership activities are always popping up as I go on with my school life. First of all, I'm in the Aphelion Council and there is a huge project council members selected has to be OT for. It is nonetheless the 16th Student Leader's Convention with even foreign participants. Life would be tough for the next 6 months as we would be meeting with OTs from the Nanyang Girls from 7pm to 12am weekly. Oh and ironically another commitment I have is the Service Learning Club, which is also SLC in acronym. I'm currently in the EXCO and is trying to find a beneficiary for our projects.

C) CCA or EP3
3 pulls at my sleeve too as I struggle with the amount of work I have. Mine is Softball which is a sport like Baseball. The thing is that, training is on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 1430 to 1730. That is more than one quarter of my week occupied. Thus, it frequently clashes with many other activities but until now, I have handled them well. However, being a sports player, I enjoy training and it helps me keep fit too as to sitting in front of the computer and do work which does not burn any fats.

D) Another thing is that I am in the AEP. Me and my mates got selected after an Art class during Sec1 and safe to say, it is a benefit to my MSG. It offers me a lot of stress-relieving activities and I am quite glad.

So I hope whoever reads this post has learned well about me to comment. Everyone else, including myself, please work hard and strive for the stars !
